An Exceptional Location

  • Yes. Itikoni Camp sits at approximately 6,000 feet on the slopes of Mount Meru, allowing guests to begin acclimatising before their Kilimanjaro climb. It is also used for Kilimanjaro briefings and gear checks.

  • Itikoni Camp is approximately 45 minutes from Kilimanjaro International Airport.

  • Activities include Arusha National Park game drives, guided forest walks, acclimatisation walks, Kilimanjaro briefings, gear checks, bush lunches and sundowners. Canoeing, waterfall hikes, birdwatching and Mount Meru climbs are also available.

  • The surrounding Mount Meru forest is home to black-and-white colobus monkeys, bushbuck, giraffe and a wide variety of birdlife.

  • Guests stay in spacious safari tents with ensuite facilities. The camp also includes a lounge tent, dining tent, library, wood-burning stove, solar charging and hot showers.

  • Itikoni Camp is used for Arusha National Park stays, Mount Meru expeditions, pre-Kilimanjaro acclimatisation, the Private Adventure Safari, Shira Summit Crater Experience, Lemosho Route and Family Kilimanjaro Adventure.
