Itikoni Camp, Arusha National Park

African Environments Itikoni Camp is a semi-permanent tented camp set in the lush forest of Arusha National Park. Situated 12 kms from the park gate, nestled beneath the crater of Mt Meru at an altitude of almost 6,800 feet, this camp offers an opportunity to acclimatize pre-expedition for those climbing ether Kilimanjaro or Meru. This camp has experienced a huge make over with the addition of the same luxury size tents we use for Mysigio and Pembezoni camp. A fantastic base for walks in Arusha National Park.

Paul – Itikoni Camp Manager:

Absolutely amazing – we got so close to the animals!

The most magnificent trip. This place is magical. Everyone must go!

It was incredible being submerged in nature but with full luxury. Everyone is so kind, friendly, knowledgeable and attentive. From hot water showers
to games by the wood burner, they really have thought of everything.

I’ll never forget the sundowners (sunset drinks) surrounded by the Mountain View and giraffes. There are so many animals to see, we got within 5 meters from of the majestic giraffes. I can’t believe we got this close to the animals. There were monkeys swinging from tree to tree, just don’t leave your shoes outside your tent at night, they might disappear!

The food and drinks are delicious, there is SO much choice. Lunch by the waterfall is a must!

We’ll be back 🌟

Great camp, excellent guide (Ben). Best food I have ever had at a tented camp. Honestly best meat I have had in TZ or Kenya. Great chef.
