Coming out on a trip through our partner agent Mountain Travel Sobek, Jutta (86 years old) embarked on a trip of a lifetime. On the 15th September 2024, Jutta was finally able to tick off a bucket list item. Sure, she was quite nervous as to what was ahead of her, but that didn’t stop her. Full of determination and good spirit, we were in awe of how Jutta took on this challenge.
Met by head guide Elias Msemo, and assistant guide Innocent Mmari, along with the other two guests in her group and all the other support crew, off they went on this incredible feat. With much support and guidance, Jutta was able to take her time and acclimatize well.
Not only did Jutta make it to the top of Africa’s tallest mountain, she was also the second oldest person to EVER summit the mountain. On top of that, she is one of the oldest people to overnight at 18,800ft Crater Camp.
We feel so privileged to have met this incredible woman and been part of her journey.
