Getting from Nairobi to Arusha

Shuttle bus

There is a twice daily shuttle bus between Arusha & Nairobi. They depart at 08:00 and 13:30 from major hotels in both cities. The journey takes about 4 - 5 hours and costs $25 each way. African Environments can book a seat on the bus for you.

Private Road Transfer

We can also arrange a private road transfer to or from Nairobi - this costs about US$350 for a minibus.

Scheduled flights

There are scheduled flights from Nairobi and from Arusha out to the National Parks. Schedules tend to vary and are not daily. Please contact us for details.

Charter Flights

By far the nicest way to get around. Private charter flights are available in Tanzania with aircraft ranging form 4 to 50 seaters. This is not a cheap way to travel but if you have the budget then it is by far the best way to make the most of a limited time in Tanzania.
