Short excursion to Zanzibar |

Take a brief sojourn to this spice-rich tropical island blending all the cultures of the Indian Ocean. The island is a scenic gem, dotted with old Arab ruins and fragrant plantations of cinnamon and clove. Its unspoiled beaches and coral reefs guarantee a relaxing finish to a great adventure safari. We offer two alternative tours for Zanzibar. Zanzibar 1 Day 1 - Transfer to Arusha Airport for 1 1/2 hour flight to Zanzibar Island. Meet at Airport and transfer to Emersons Hotel. The hotel is in one of the old Arab buildings downtown in old Stone Town Zanzibar. It has been remodeled beautifully in a traditional style. Enjoy the unique Indian Ocean African/Arabic culture as you wander the narrow winding streets of town. Bed and breakfast only. Day 2 - Mid-morning or afternoon leave town to transfer out to the beautiful white sand beaches on the east coast of the island. On the way to the beach, stop at Jozani Forest and view the rare endemic Red Colobus monkey. Stay at Breezes Resort, a full service beach resort. Breakfast & dinner Day 3 - Breezes. Enjoy the beach, relax by the pool or choose a more active option such as snorkling or scuba diving. Breakfast & dinner Day 4 - Transfer to Airport for flight to Arusha. Transfer to dayroom at the Moivaro Lodge. Transfer to Kilimanjaro International airport.Breakfast & dinner Zanzibar 2 The rural northeast coast of Zanzibar is known for its fine weather and natural beauty. Here, in harmony with the landscape and in close co-operation with the local population, Matemwe Bungalows was built to offer you something different for your well-deserved holiday. There are sixteen individually built bungalows constructed of local materials, directly overlooking the sea. Matemwe has one of the best diving sites on Zanzibar Island. Day 1: Emerson's Hotel. Transfer to Arusha Airport for 1 ½ hour flight to Zanzibar Island. Meet Sulieman at the airport and transfer to Emersons Hotel. The hotel is in one of the old Arab buildings downtown in Old Stone Town Zanzibar. It has been fully remodeled in a traditional style. Enjoy the unique Indian Ocean African/Arabic culture as you wander the narrow winding streets of town. Breakfast only. Day 2: Matweme Lodge. At you leisure mid-morning leave town to transfer out to the beautiful white sand beaches on the northeast coast of the island. SCUBA and snorkel diving are both arranged for the best times each day. Diving is carried out from a traditional style sailing dhow equipped with sail and outboard motor. Most days everyone can do two SCUBA dives and enjoy some snorkeling if that is not enough. Day 3: Matweme Lodge. When tides permit, whole day trips are arranged. These trips allow time to explore a couple different dive sites and enjoy a picnic lunch on a remote beach. When the tides are not perfect for whole day trips there are kayaks available to explore the low tide reefs inside the lagoon. Day 4: Transfer to the airport for the flight to Arusha. Transfer to a day room at the Moivaro Lodge. Have an early dinner before the transfer to the Kilimanjaro International Airport and your flight home. Or arrange for an overnight before your next Tanzanian adventure. |
