Wilderness Education and Guiding Experience

2004  Wilderness Medical Institute WFR course with emergency rescue practical from 16,000 ft on Kilimanjaro.

2001 Helped teach a 4 day practical mountain rescue operation on the Western Breach ascent route of Kilimanjaro.  Included rescue and evacuation practice.  Video was taken of the entire training and reviewed by many of the participants.

May 2001 Attended Wilderness First Responder and NOLS Outdoor Educators Courses in Nairobi. (Re-certification of WFR). 

1999 Helped teach a short mountain first aid and rescue seminar to Kilimanjaro National Park rangers in preparation for the busy millennium season of climbing on Kilimanjaro.

June-July 1997 Attended Wilderness First Responder and NOLS Outdoor Educators course in United States.

April 1995 Attended National Outdoor Leadership School course conducted in Ngorongoro Highlands and Rift Valley for walking safari guides.  Was selected as a group leader. 

Oct.1994: Attended French Outdoor School Mountain Guides Course on Kilimanjaro.  Was selected as a group leader and first aid supervisor. 

June 1994 Began working as a Mountain Courier for AE. 

June 1994 Attended AE Guide Training at Arusha National Park. 

May 1994 Attended Kilimanjaro National Park Guide Certification Course.  Was selected as a group leader for this course.

May 1994 Attended AE Mountain Guides Training Seminar on Kilimanjaro.

June 1993 Began working with African Environments (AE) as a Mountain Briefer and Guide in Training.

Also, I have attended many African Environments in-house training seminars on various topics, such as natural history, first aid and emergency procedures, and client relations. 
I have completed the Wilderness Medicine Institute and awarded in Wilderness First Responder.
I have participated in an American Heart Association, Heart Saver Course

I am currently employed as a Courier for African Environments, leading mountain treks on Kilimanjaro and Mt. Meru, and guiding wildlife safaris and walking safaris all over in Tanzania
